The innovative Solarix solar facade, integrated into the new construction section of the building, comprises 521 m² of panels, of which 465 m² are active and 56 m² are dummies. With an expected annual yield of 36,000 kWh and an estimated CO2 reduction of 26,772 kg per year, the facade makes a significant contribution to the sustainability of the headquarters. Solarix closely collaborated with Broekbakema to develop special panels that perfectly match the building’s design. These panels, in a blend of grey tones from the Dot collection, are subtly integrated into the facade, creating a harmonious whole with the concrete and glass elements.
That makes steel a naturally sustainable material — and a key enabler of the circular economy. Steel also plays a vital role in the energy transition, not only in how it’s made, but also in how it’s used.
